Unfortunately, she says, ?some corporate cultures do
Unfortunately, she says, ?some corporate cultures do not emphasize these types of training experiences for their managers.? The result is constant turnover and reduced productivity.
Jenkins urges H/R decision-makers to ?change their thinking of hiring to hunting? and to focus on ?consistent measurable results.? She suggests that strategies be put into place to ?obtain and retain the best candidates, not just qualified applicants.?
Who?s Minding the Store?
Human resource professionals have their priorities skewed,? comments Jenkins. ?They appear to be consumed with cost-per-hire, total recruiting fees paid and how ?fast? someone is hired.? However the quality of the new hires, and the long-term value or cost to the company of hiring a mediocre applicant is completely overlooked.?
It?s literally a vicious cycle. ?The people who hold jobs in H/R and corporate recruiting came up in the same flawed system they work for.? Mis-focused and under-trained, ?they ensure that ineffective recruiting processes prevail.?
The Culprits
Armed with superb resumes and impeccable qualifications, white-collar professionals now comprise one-fifth of all unemployed workers.

It really wasn’t very helpful, and I
It really wasn’t very helpful, and I was wondering if you could offer some tips on how to handle stress.
A:You’ve run into a problem I see all too often in the field of stress management, as well as in any other area that involves change.
Anyone can describe the problem for you, sometimes in great detail. Then a few others can describe the problem and tell you what you should do about it. What you need is someone to tell you the how of managing stress.
Three Tools
To get you started on managing stress, here are three tools that you can use right away.
Tool of relaxation.
Here’s something I call push-button relaxation. Picture yourself somewhere that is very relaxing and peaceful. See, hear and feel everything as if you were there. Create your own personal button to create this picture/feeling. For some people it’s a snap of the fingers, others use a word or phrase – whatever quickly takes you there in your imagination.

These are easy to install
These are easy to install and to use, as well. The compatibility of the USB flash drives and the availability of drivers in order for it to run must be checked with the manufacturer before even purchasing your flash drive. However, almost all USB flash drives work well with most computers.
Using USB flash drives are even simpler and more accessible than CD-R or DVD-R, besides USB ports are more common than CD or DVD equipped computers. Also, files stored in the USB flash drives may be erased as often as the user wants it to and may be changed as well.
The novelty of USB flash drives have long gone, yet despite this, users still enjoy its power and portability.

Many of these methodologies and belief
Many of these methodologies and belief systems have become rigid and unchanging even though many more options are now available and even more are on the horizon.
As to the cause, many speculate that mercury in addition to other heavy metals could be a strong culprit though the proof is not in the pudding yet. Books like ?Evidence Of Harm? by David Kirby, a New York Times writer clearly organizes all the facts for others to draw their own conclusion surrounding the issues around immunizations. Perhaps it?s in the dental amalgams, the fish we eat or other environmental surroundings.
Then still others are pointing to the gene pool saying it is passed on from one generation to the next. I know in my case, I believe my Aeronautical Engineer father has a high functioning form of autism and I grew up thinking he was ?normal?. I was therefore attracted to someone who also has many symptoms of autism such as the lack of social skills in certain situations, an egocentric focus, and perseveration (doing the same thing over and over again), especially when it comes to working 7 days a week 12 hour days.

Carnival is a stunner [Edition 2]

COUNTLESS numbers of revellers turned out to watch Par carnival finale take to the streets in style.
Festivalgoers taking part in the procession on Saturday donned bright and outlandish costumes to bring a real carnival atmosphere to the town. Carnival characters included a group dressed as a fluorescent pink centipede, Grenville Allen from Wingz Animal Sanctuary dressed as an exotic bird and another festivalgoer in a traditional Cornish pasty. They were joined in the procession by the town’s carnival queen, king and fairy queen as well as visiting royalty from nearby villages.
The parade was accompanied by the St Austell Town Band and St Dennis Bands.
Contenders also vied to impress the 13 judges which included David and Kim Matthews from St Austell’s Community Kitchen (STAK) in a number of carnival categories including the best dressed vehicle.
Cathy Wood, committee secretary, said: “It was a really lovely day and we had lots of people thanking us for organising it. There was about 1,000 people turned out to line the streets.”
As part of carnival week people from across the town and nearby villages were able to take part in lots of different events including sports races and a very popular bicycle ride around the town.
It looks as if the success of the festival might have saved it from coming to an end

Stay away from fried foods
Stay away from fried foods such as most fast foods. Fried foods contain the dreaded trans fat and you want to stay away from that. Summer schedule is not a piece of cake for Bath squad
Summer schedule is not a piece of cake for Bath squad

Bath Rugby is taking a smidgen of inspiration from weight-loss television programmes as the club seeks to whip players into shape for the start of the Aviva Premiership, writes Tom Bradshaw. The club’s head of strength and conditioning, Paul Bunce, says there is a strong focus on nutrition during the pre-season. Players whose body mass index is too high are being called in over weekends to do extra training.
Bunce joking alludes to a character from comedy series BBC Little Britain when describing the weekend ‘fat boys’ club.
“We had the Marjorie Dawes Club last year and this year it will be Bath’s Biggest Loser,” he smiled.
“The guys who are in it will be in on a Saturday morning.
“We will be taking a bit of their time out of the weekend so they can be up to scratch for the time the season starts.”
Bunce is willing to have a laugh about the name of the group but is serious about its aim – to shed the fat built up over the off- season.
But he acknowledges that the players need to be free to tuck into the odd takeaway from time to time.
“We’ve a greater emphasis on our nutritional programme from a recovery and regeneration perspective,” he said.
“We want guys to be more responsible with their body fats, the way they recover and the way they front up to sessions.
“Each player will have some targets they need to achieve – not just for the pre-season but the entire season.
“They are all human beings so they can have a beer and a curry. The young boys like to go out. That’s part of being a rugby player as well.
“However, if they are not meeting their objectives and their goals, restrictions come in. It comes down to individuals and what they need.
“I’m happy that we need to enjoy our food but at the same time you need to be responsible because if you’re out of shape with too much body fat then you are impacting on the team. We need to make sure we are in good nick.
“We use the 80:20 rule
